Dracula

I've been reading Bram Stoker's novel Dracula (1897). It's much better than I thought. It is scary in a traditional way. The book consist of notes and letters of characters, which actually works really well and gives it a touch of reality. And that gives me the creeps.

I love love love Autumn

Hello boys and girls! Too much time has passed since my last update. I'm coming more and more convinced that I'm too lazy to keep a blog, so I thought I should try to make this more visual, so, less writing more photos and scans.

After summer, life seems to take on its normal course, luckily. It was nice summer, not different from others before, but warm enough anyway. It's always the same in Finland when people notice that's summer and you can actually walk outside without a jacket. People start to send out some hippie vibes. Suddenly everyone are smiling and have flowers in their hair. Women are using long salsa skirts, there's some men without shirt and many are walking barefoot, in the centre of Helsinki! I'm usually little cynical with this, secretly smiling to them behind my sunglasses and black jacket collar. But I would lie if I said I didn't enjoyed the summer mood. At the end even I put flowers in my hair, black flowers.
As the summer is irretrievably over, I'm happy. I'm happy because it's autumn and I love autumn. As some people go wild with summer, autumn makes same impact on me. Well almost. I get almost obsessed want to carve faces to pumpkins and sit inside and drink hot chocolate and take long walks in forest when leafs are orange and red. See? I'm sending pumpkin vibes. My biggest problem now is, will I buy two small pumpkin or one big or should I get tree small?

I was in Portugal, Lisbon with my family at summer. I'm so weary of those traditional tourist pictures so this photo taken by my sister is my absolute favourite.

There are some singers and bands in my top favourite music list that I always listen more at autumn than other seasons. They just fit to autumn so well that I have to listen them over and over again.

'Welcome to England' by Tori Amos. 'Sleeps with butterflies' is also lovely.

Florence + The machine 'Drumming song'

Joanna Newsom 'Emily' (First part)

Okey, next is completely different from the others and doesn't belong to my autumn music, but it's Halloween song. I now it's just September.
Alien sex fiend 'Katch 22' it includes four part so it's quite a long. Also if you listen carefully to the third part where they are singing 'Hubble Bubble' you can hear resembles to the song they sang in the beginnin of Harry Potter the Prisoner of Azkaban.

And now I'm going to a walk.

Don't call my name

I post this video although I know almost everybody is doing the same. But I can't help it because I LOVE this, don't ask why I just do. It's very bleak, but lately my own inspirations have been kind of the same spirit, so I guess that's why it had so big impact on me. It's bizarre, little scary and really cool.

I noticed similarities with Alice in the wonderland (only minor, but still). The white pale skin, crown thing etc.

Did you saw the teeth! Vampire grin.

Just smoke my cigarette and hush.

Bye bye post

To my dear friend who moved far far away.

I'll miss you honeybee.

Casablanca, as time goes by

Just watched Casablanca. Such a stylish film. I think everybody should see it at least once. I have seen it before a few years ago, but found it little boring then, but now it was quite cool. I think you just have to find the right mood. Now when I'm "little older", when I watch good old films, like Casablanca, I think newer films can never beat the old ones, at least not when it comes to style.

So just play it, Sam.

Back on heels

Shoes! What a joy and what a pain. For a while I've been unable to use high heels because of little injury in my toe (cause: too high high heels). It was hard to bear not being able to use heels, since they are my passion. I didn't even have nice flat winter boots, I didn't bothered to buy a pair, 'cause I thought my toe would be better in no time, but I was so wrong. Anyway it's summer now and no need for winter boots.

Nevertheless I've learned my lesson. In aim to use high heels do not forget to take special care of your feet and never underestimate even the littlest injury on your feet. Be grateful to your feet to tolerate high heels, I'm serious. I think heels are the most unhealthy fashion phenomenon after corsets, but quite powerful too.

In my opinion, fabulous pair of shoes and well done hairdo do the thing. And to be honest I'm not good at doing my hair an then I couldn't use my high heels, I was quite upset. Of course for a "fashion kid", I should have think about flats more, but being so obsessed with high heels I didn't give the damn to them.
Now forced to face the reality I've planned to buy few pair of flats. Hanging around in shops I've found actually quite cool ballerinas. So even if I couldn't use high heels I'll look fabulous. :D

I would like to own pair or two of Chanel high heels and Alexander McQueen's and...
...you know what I mean.

"Why don't you love me?"

Beyonce's new music video "Why don't you love me" (at least I think it's new, I'm not sure because I don't really follow her doings). I'm not so into the music, thought it's okay, but I like the video, quite a fifties housewife style. Beyonce is using some nice clothes in this video and even nicer shoes. I also thought I saw Gaga influences in some parts, but that's a good thing isn't it?

Who hates fashion and why?

On the other day I red Tavi's blog and I run into an old update which is posted 22.1.10, so I'm kinda late to comment it. Tavi commented for Tanya Gold published article in The Guardian "Why I hate fashion" After reading it I also had to say something, even when Tavi's post was way more comprehensive and I completely agree with her. Before reading forward please read the article and Tavi's post first.

In my opinion I highlight: in my opinion (because we could argue this for ages) anorexic models, size issues etc. are not fashion, like some people seem to think, they are fashions nasty by-products which are formed because people misunderstood the ultimate meaning of fashion. I think fashion is when people express themselves through the clothes it's not important whether designer clothes or bought from flea market, it's the most interesting when people combine cheap and expensive clothes. People who dress themselves like they want and feel confident in their clothes usually inspire not only themselves but others. 'Fashion is everywhere' like mademoiselle Chanel said. Since "fashion" started to exist it's always been argued what's fashion and what's not, so don't confuse yourself it's best that you decide what it is to you.

For example check these websites. High fashion and street fashion, very similar but same time different. Inspired by each other.

Coco

I found these Coco Chanel's interviews from you tube. It was interesting to see her talking and moving, especially when I've read the biography. Even though I can't understand what she is saying I can see her personality. She did things on her own way, not the way other expected to and look what she achieved! I think she got almost what she wanted, but I'm not sure if she was happy.

Take a look even if you can't understand French :)

Vision of shopping

I officially refuse to shop at chain shops any more. They completely trivialize my shophaholic spirit. I'm like BLAH for even seeing the logos. I've found really nice clothes from chain shops like H&M, but I've just simply had enough. I decided this experiment will last one or two months. It means that from this day on I will shop only in boutiques, vintage shops and designer shops and also flea market will count for a cheaper option, I'm not counting underwear and socks in because they're basic needs.
I'll put photos of my shoppings here for you to see.

20 and dumb

Hi, for a while I have been trying to create a blog which would please me, but some how it seems difficult, but I'm trying again.

So let me introduce myself, I'm Miss AG. I was quite unsure of myself before but experiencing bunch of things and getting older has made me more confident, but possibly more crazy, I think, so be aware. Hahaha! :D

I'm a hopeless optimist and a day dreamer, though contradictory I feel very cynical at times and feel like I haven't learnt anything. And I mean one specific thing which I won't talk about any more. Sorry, I just couldn't resist a little angst moment. But I have warned you and I'm really trying to keep this blog clear of all that kind of crap and writing more about fashion moments and inspirations, okey.

I respect Lady Gaga very much. It's always interesting to follow what she's up to next. Her music videos are so inspiring. I'm always waiting to see her outfits. I love her style, though I wouldn't use all of them out in public.

I just love this outfit, I think I'd use this, it's so stylish. (From Gaga's new music video 'Telephone')

I also look up to Coco Chanel. I think she has become my idol or something. I have seen the movies and I'm currently reading her biography. I just noticed that even though it seems like Chanel and Gaga have nothing in common they both have kind of shocked the people of their time.
Maybe I hope to become one of them ?

I'm studying clothing industry and I'll graduate next autumn. I have some plans which I'm trying to carry out for autumn, but more about that later.
